Michael Myers. Tha face behind the mask....

Because of the small budget of the "Halloween"movie in 1978 the cheapest mask that the prop department could find was a Star Trek William Shatner mask. They spray painted it white and messed up the hair. Shatner had no idea of this until years later when he was asked about it in an interview. He takes great honor in the gesture.

On a side note the movie was filmed in 21 days on a budget of $320,000 and made it the highest grossing independent movie at that time.

Happy Halloween Facts....BOOOOO!!!!

I love Halloween. It's by far my favorite holiday because I get am considered normal for acting like a kid.

Halloween is the 2nd most commercially successful holiday behind Christmas. 88% of households decorate their house and the average person in America spends about $66 each on a costume, candy, and decorations. $2 billion in sales of candy are reported leading up to the days right before Halloween weighing in at nearly 600 million pounds of candy just for that one day. Strangely Candy Corn (which I can eat one of before i get tired of them) is the top selling candy and no surprise that Alabama would be the top buyer of candy corn.

Nicolas Cage is in fact a "day walker vampire"

Being Halloween weekend I figured this is worthy of the F.F.F. blog. A Seattle based man named Jack Mord is selling a Civil War-era photo for a coooool $1,000,000 on Ebay claiming that it is physical proof that Nicolas Cage is a bona fide vaaaampire.

Jack states, "... I believe it's him and that he is some sort of walking undead/vampire... reinventing himself every 75 years or so."

HEY NIKE....KILLER SLOGAN!!!!!

JUST.... DO.... IT.... Three little words that have changed advertising and peoples mentality and motivation ever since the late 70's. But so very few people know the origins of that 'killer' slogan. (pun intended)

In 1977 Gary Mark Gilmore demanded his own death sentence after murdering two people. His final words to the firing squad of 5 were "Let's Do It".

Dan Wieden from the advertising agency Wieden+Kennedy thought it would make a great slogan but needed a little tweaking and changed it to the three famous words we know today.

So next time you are facing the death penalty make sure you say something catchy because you never know how those words will change the world.

Steve Jobs... Original Gangster....

So we all know that Steve Jobs sadly passed away two days ago and that he changed the world in more ways than we could ever imagine. BUTTT did you know that ever since he took the company back over as CEO in 1997 his salary has been $1.00. That's not to say he was having hard time making ends meet. He owned 5.5 million shares of stock valued at $377 per share. Surprisingly he was only the 110th richest man in the world after his sale of Pixar for 7 Billion. If he hadn't sold his original shares in Apple after being force to leave from Apple, the company he had started with Steve Wozniak in his parents garage, he would have been the 5th wealthiest man on the planet. I respect a man who sets his own salary at $1.00 and doesn't give himself outlandish million dollar bonuses no matter how the company performs like those big investment firms do. He turned that company around.

On a side note Jobs once said about Bill Gates that "He'd be a braoder guy if he had dropped acid once or gone off to an ashram when he was younger." hahahaha. Could you imagine Bill Gates dropping acid? Hmmm maybe he did? That would explain the flying toaster screen saver...

RIP STEVE JOBS
...thank you...
